Sana Ekka Avurudu: A Celebration of Sinhala and Tamil New Year 2023

The spirit of togetherness and cultural vibrancy was brought to life at the Barn House Studio in Panadura on April 22nd as we organized the much-anticipated Sana Ekka Avurudu event. Dedicated to celebrating the Sinhala and Tamil New Year, this fun-filled occasion united employees from various backgrounds in a festive atmosphere filled with traditional games, joyful interactions, and a deep sense of cultural pride.

Embracing Tradition: A Memorable First Day at Work in 2023

January 2nd, 2023, was a remarkable beginning as employees stepped into the office premises, greeted by an enchanting display of tradition and camaraderie. The first day at work was not merely a return to routine; it was a celebration of unity and cultural heritage. As an organization, we arranged a vibrant Kevili Table adorned with an array of traditional foods and a symbolic boiling milk pot, symbolizing prosperity and abundance for the year ahead.

On June 5th, in celebration of World Environment Day, Sana Commerce Sri Lanka organized a plant distribution event at its office premises. With a vision to create a greener and more sustainable future, the company took the initiative to give free plants to its employees.

Enlightening Dhamma Sermon Marks Poson Full Moon Poya Day

Sana Commerce Sri Lanka witnessed a profound spiritual gathering on June 6th as we celebrated Poson Full Moon Poya Day with a special Buddhist Dhamma sermon. The event was graced by the presence of Most Ven Pothuhera Mahindasiri Thero and held within the premises of our office.

Proper sanitation unit for Peramaduwa Vidyalaya

In 2017, we selected T/Kan/Peramaduwa Vidyalaya, which is a school found in Agbopura, Kanthale. The children and teachers were in a rural area and this school lacked proper infrastructure. After hearing we decided to support the school by constructing one building to hold classrooms and a proper washroom for the boys. The project estimated an amount of LKR 2,000,000 that the CSR committee raised through fundraising activities and donations.

Providing ICT Facilities for Dammala Primary School

The primary aim of this CSR program was to provide students at Dammala Primary School with access to modern technology and equip them with the skills they need to thrive in the 21st century. The CSR program was implemented in several stages, each designed to ensure that the school received the necessary resources and support to achieve its goals. The school shelters 97 students and 5 hardworking teachers who try their best to educate these children who are coming from families with considerably lower income. We delivered a complete classroom which can be used as a Smart classroom or a computer lab with 5 Desktop computers and a laptop.

Water for the Kahatagahagollawa Vidyalaya 💦

Kahatagahagollawa Vidyalaya is a small school in Kabithigollawa with only 180 students studying in grades from 1 to 11. The school and the village had been largely affected by CKD and many of them lived too far to seek medical attention. After research, we did in that area, we found that access to clean drinking water could solve the problem to some extent. Considering that, we at Sana Commerce Sri Lanka committed to investing in fixing a water purifying filter for the school.

A New School Building to Habarana Weragala Vidyalaya 🎓

With the support from our global employees across Netherlands and Ukraine, Sana Commerce Sri Lanka chose Weragala Vidyalaya located in Habarana to help under the CSR Project in 2018. This school currently has 55 students enrolled. However, this school was one that lacked the basic facilities to provide a conducive learning environment for these students

‘Sipsatharata Arunellak’ 2019 🤝

Sana Commerce Sri Lanka marking its fifth-year anniversary, successfully built three classroom buildings and an IT and science laboratory for the Maha Andarawewa Junior School in Nawagattegama, as well as renovated other infrastructure to provide a learning-conducive environment. We also conducted a knowledge transfer session among the students on the basics of using computers, providing scholarships to the best-performing students, and then went on to plant around 100 plants at the school.
